In through the out is the working title for the first installment of three installations that once completed will be exhibited together. This first installment utilizes images created by Siska on digital video and 16mm film. The two main characters breathing fire was shot in Chicago, 2001. The 16mm film footage that appears through out the piece was shot in Kiev, Ukraine 1999.

Siska has been concerned with re-contexulizing images from his repertoire in the form of either video to print photographs in the case of his most recent photographic series (which a portion of the series was exhibited at the first installment of Love Unlimited, Antwerp spring 2001) or by re-contextualizing moving images of film or video which he has executed In Through The Out .

The approach of re-contextualizing and transgression of video to manipulate the image so it is not just video or film in the traditional sense is presented In Through The Out . By taking the idea of selecting a single image from a video that best express an idea or emotion as with the photograph, Siska has taken it to the next level by selecting a series of points within a given action or execution of either fire breathing individuals, fragments of Ukraine landscapes and action created through performance as with the boar headed drummer.

The characters and fragmented imagery In through the out represent several themes or personal expression: such as depressive re-birth, homage to the strength of woman and the inner feeling of battling sub-conscious demons.
